MAKING HISTORY 2021

Words can not express how much me, and my alumni nation feel about the 2021 Brunswick High Boys Soccor team this year. Now I'm not gone lie, I'm not the biggest soccor fan, and recording the games was a great opportunity for filming. As the season progress while watching these young men put it all on the field has been an amazing experience. They have definitely open my eyes to the sport or soccor and I'm also becoming a new fan. But back to the reason for this post. The boys team has been making history all year. This has by far been the best team put together in our school's history. Currently with a 8-2 record as I write this, this is the best record in school history. This year I go to witness the ending of a winning streak. A few weeks ago, they won for the very first time in school history against our crosstown rivals the Glynn Academy Terrors. Yes, you read that right, the very first time in school history. I could not believe that in the 60+ years this school has been open, the boys team has never beaten them until this year. Not only did they beat them one time, but twice at that, and winning the City Championship Trophy for the first time as well. This was by far one of the most epic games I've ever watch in all of high schools sports. We went up by score of 2-0 and held it for most of the game. As usually the Terrors made a comeback as the do in most sports and tie game. After regulation and two hard fought overtime periods went by, the game went into a shootout. after 5 rounds score was 5-4 our way and in order to win the game our goalie had to come up with the biggest save of his career. Stadium was so quiet you could mosquito from 50 yards away. As the kicker went for his attempt, that's when it happen, the biggest game saver heard around the city. My Pirates cheered and screamed to the top of our lungs filled with joy and excitement. Our young men now have a chance to continuing their path at making history. Should they win out, they will be regions champs for first time as well in school history.
